At Preston DMV we can assist you with your Standard Driver’s License and ID.
Beginning May 7, 2025, every air traveler 18 years and older will need a REAL ID, Enhanced Driver’s License or ID, Passport or another acceptable form of ID to fly within the United States or enter federal facilities.

After May 7, 2025:
✔ Not acceptable for domestic air travel
✔ Not acceptable federal use
✔ Will remain valid for other ID purposes
✔ Will remain valid for driving privileges
If you currently have a Real ID or Enhanced Driver’s License, Instruction Permit or ID. And it is time to renew. No additional documentation is required.
If you have a name or address change, You must bring acceptable proof.

Required Documents
To apply for a Minnesota Driver’s License, ID Card or Permit, you must present either a Minnesota Driver’s License, ID Card or Permit that is current or expired for five years or less if it has a photo or one year or less if it does not have a photo.
If you do not have one of these items, you must present one primary and one secondary document.
